Tim & Jennifer Christensen, owners of Uncle Jack?s Restaurant regretfully announce the closing of Uncle Jack?s effective immediately. We are proud and honored to have served Independence and the surrounding communities for the last nine years. Due to the economic climate and ensuing downturn in our business we have chosen this time to close our doors and pursue other life interests. We appreciate your loyalty throughout the years and will miss sharing in the daily lives of all our friends old and new.
Best wishes to all, with many thanks.

The Place For Fine Dining and Entertaining
Uncle Jack (Clark) was raised in Independence and later moved to New York City where he became a well-known fashion photographer and Renaissance Man. Jack was able to be here and share in the Grand opening of the restaurant on October 19, 2000. Jack passed away on February 28, 2002 but his memory lives on. Uncle Jack?s philosophy on life was ?good food, good friends and good fun?, an ideology we hope to share with you at ?Uncle Jack?s?.
Who says fine dining is limited to Wichita? Your next favorite meal is a short drive into the Kansas countryside. Most small-town eateries wouldn?t blend in if they were uprooted and placed in New York City. Uncle Jack?s (104 N. Penn Avenue, Independence, 620-331-5225), however, is a rural-area restaurant with big-city appeal. Even comedian Jerry Seinfeld has eaten at the fine dining establishment, named after a successful fashion photographer who made his name in Manhattan.
